Raquel will open a PayPal account in January and notify membership once it is available for use.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Chezire will embed PayPal (when the account is ready) on the NCNMLG website.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">4. <\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Quad Meeting MOU (<\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">memorandum of understanding)<\/span> \u2013 <\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Rebecca Davis<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Meeting will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Denver. \u00a0It goes from October 12<\/span><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">th<\/span><b> <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">to October 15<\/span><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">th<\/span><b> \u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">2013. \u00a0Cost is $129 (single or double room). \u00a0They are expecting 450 attendees. \u00a0We need to sign an MOU by December 31<\/span><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. \u00a0Once we sign it we are liable for hotel and conference expenses. \u00a0Our involvement will mean contributing $2000 in seed money and participation in committees- 1 NCNMLG member on the Steering Committee and also on every other Quad Meeting committee. \u00a0Rebecca and Raquel offered to be on the Steering Committee and represent NCNMLG. \u00a0Most of the committee meetings will be online.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">5. \u00a02013 Exec Board and Business Meetings \u2013 <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Carmen Huddleston<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Carmen has raised the question regarding the number of business meetings and Executive Board meetings that the chapter plans to have this year. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The chapter is required to have a minimum of 3 <\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">business<\/span> <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">meetings (not Executive Board) and those will be held at free venues in different locations: \u00a0Kaiser Oakland (February meeting), Stanford, and Sacramento area were discussed. At this time no specific area determined.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Executive Board voted to have the future Executive Board meetings as webinars.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Action Item:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Karen will investigate using Kaiser Permanente\u2019s Oakland facilities for the next business meeting.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">6. \u00a0Professional Development Committee \u2013 <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Claire Sharifi<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Professional Development grant winners will be announced within a week. \u00a0Winners get reimbursed for $300. \u00a0Some questions came up about the awards: \u00a0Can the money be used for travel or for lodging or just for conferences or classes? \u00a0After some discussion, the Executive Board members approved the use of the grant money for travel expenses connected to the conference visit.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Tms Rmn';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Ysabel Bertolucci Award for Professional Excellence<\/span><\/span><b> <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">will be presented in February if there are any nominations. \u00a0The Professional Development Committee will make a request for applicants in the spring. The Executive Board decided that retired professionals aren\u2019t eligible for this award. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The request for applications for the Professional Development Grant has gone out, and members are encouraged to apply.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">7. \u00a0RML representatives access to NCNMLG listserv<\/span> \u2013 <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Raquel Abad and Carmen Huddleston<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Board members discussed allowing nonmembers to post to NCNMLG listserv which would mean needing to monitor it. \u00a0The solution around monitoring it is to have the listserv Chapter member, Chris Stave get the email request to post and screen it.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Earlier this year Raquel had deleted nonpaid members from the listserv. \u00a0The Board decided to allow PSRML leaders (Alan Carr and Kay Deeney) to remain on the listserv.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">8.<\/span> \u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Financial Planning and MLA\u2019s Fundraising Letter<\/span> \u2013 <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Judith Mills<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Judith presented MLA\u2019s annual fundraising letter in which the association asked every chapter to consider donating to MLA\u2019s 2013 funds. These financial contributions are used to give out scholarships, create educational events other activities. Following a short discussion, the Exec. Board decided against donating to MLA at this time.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Judith addressed the need to do financial planning and to consider implementing fundraising activities in order to increase the chapter\u2019s revenue. Some of these activities could include working in co-operation with vendors, selling our chapter\u2019s logo-embedded items at the Joint Committee meeting or starting a colleague appreciation donation in someone\u2019s name.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Xan suggested a new approach to raise money: \u00a0We could hold a 50-50 raffle at the July 24-27 Joint Meeting where half the money raised in the raffle would go to our Chapter and the other half to the winner of the raffle.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">9.<\/span> \u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Archives<\/span> \u2013 <\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Polina Ilieva<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tabled until the next meeting<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">10. \u00a0Mentoring \u2013 <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Judith Mills<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Mentoring is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your community. \u00a0Judith talked about the benefits of establishing a mentoring program in our chapter. \u00a0One such advantage for the potential mentors is the possibility to earn credit towards the AHIP certification. So far seventeen chapter members are interested in mentoring. \u00a0Mentees can get professional coaching and support at no additional cost. The Professional Development Committee will be in charge of mentoring so all interested parties should contact them.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">11.<\/span> \u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman Bold';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Miscellaneous<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Future Educational Event with CE Credits \u00a0\u2013 Judith Mills<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Lauren Maggio will be presenting the NN\/LM PSR-sponsored training class entitled, \u201cSupporting Open Access\u201d on Jan 25, 10:00-3:00pm. Participants can earn 5 CME credits by attending this seminar at Stanford.
